Launch Limited Edition Tamarind Liqueur

Launch Limited Edition Tamarind Liqueur

This year Senior & Co, producer of the Genuine Curaçao Liqueur, celebrates its 120th birthday. To conmemorate this event Senior & Co. released a unique new flavor: Tamarind Liqueur. The first 120 bottles of this special Tamarind Liqueur will have a numbered certificate. The Tamarind liqueur is inspired by the local Curaçao Tamarind juice, called ‘Warapa’. The taste is based on the fruits of the Tamarind tree.

The popular Curaçao liqueur is made on Curaçao since 1896, with the aromatic peels of the Laraha, the bitter orange native of Curaçao. Because of this fact, the Curaçao Liqueur by Senior & Co is the only one allowed to call itself the Genuine Curaçao Liqueur.

For this unique variant, the Laraha has not been used but replaced by the fruit of the Tamarind tree. “We really wanted something, which grows on Curaçao, but not the Laraha this time”, says the proud inventor and also production manager, John Bradshaw. “We got inspired by the local Curaçao Tamarind juice, called ‘Warapa’." The idea was there for a while, but after a long development process, in search of the perfect taste, our 120th birthday is a wonderful moment.”

The limited edition Tamarind Liqueur is available in the gift and liqueur shop at Landhuis Chobolobo, where the liqueurs are also being made. During the year, there will be more festivities connected to the 120th birthday.
